Man Utd ‘reject’ tipped for Premier League move as pundit is adamant wantaway star can bounce back

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has been tipped for a Premier League move as Erik ten Hag looks to reshuffle his squad this summer.

Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane have often kept Maguire out of the starting lineup this season.

, allowing Maguire to seek a new challenge elsewhere.

The England international only started in eight league matches this season, playing a total of just 762 minutes in the league.

With the 30-year-old likely to leave in the summer, Premier League clubs are pondering a move for the defender.

While he hasn’t been at his best of late, Maguire still has plenty to offer and the right club could potentially get him back to his best.

Tony Cascarino thinks that Tottenham could be the ideal place for Maguire to rediscover his form next season.

“There will be clubs after Harry [Maguire],” Cascarino told talkSPORT.

“Would you say that he would do Tottenham any harm? I think he’s way better than anyone Tottenham have got.

“What do you do, you get a quick centre-half alongside him. You want someone with pace and Harry I think would do an admirable job.

“He’s a decent player and he’s gone through a bad time and there’s lots of players who have this experience in their career. Who is going to excite him and reignite his career? Would it be Spurs?

“Now, some Spurs fans might not want a [Manchester] United reject. Harry’s an England international with a lot of experience and has done very well.”

Maguire is contracted with Man United until 2025, with the option of a further year. United are unlikely to receive anywhere near the £80million they originally spent on him.

“No one would be happy with this situation,” Ten Hag told The Times.

“He is not as well. He trains always on the best levels, so with 100 per cent effort. So he handles that situation well and he’s in that manner and in his captaincy he’s important for the squad.”

When asked if Maguire will stay, he added: “Let’s say I’m happy he’s here and when we needed him he did his job. But it’s also a decision he has to make.”
