Man Utd outcast looking for ‘way out’ as Ten Hag is open to ‘letting him go’ this summer

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United outcast Donny van de Beek will seek a new opportunity away from the club this summer.

It had been hoped that with Erik ten Hag at the helm, Van de Beek would have been afforded more opportunities, but this has not transpired.

The Dutch midfielder has struggled to make an impact while at Old Trafford and he has only made 10 appearances this season.

and Van de Beek is likely to be surplus to requirements.

A knee injury has kept him out of action since January, but prior to this, he found himself behind the likes of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Fred in the pecking order.

Romano has clarified where the club currently stand on the player as he looks for the next step in his career.

“Donny Van de Beek is exploring options for a potential summer move. Man United would be open to letting him go in case he finds the right opportunity,” Romano explained on his YouTube channel.

“Donny loves Man United, Donny would love to fight for a place, but he needs to play football.

“He needs to have regular game time and so this is why Van de Beek will look at opportunities and explore options together with his camp to find a way out of Man United in the summer. ”

There’s no denying that the Dutch midfielder has had a tough time since making the move to Old Trafford in 2020.

Man United paid £35m for him at the time, with a further £5m in add-ons. In three seasons he has made just 34 appearances in the league.

He also hasn’t played for the Netherlands since 2021 and is now in need of rejuvenating his career before it is too late.

“Can he get the opportunity to get back to Ajax? I really hope he can because he was absolutely amazing there,” Parker told Soccernews.

“I hope he will get the opportunity to enjoy football again. This is also about enjoying his life and he can´t be enjoying his life in Manchester right now, even though it is a lovely place to be if things go right for you.”
