Man Utd join Liverpool, Arsenal in race for Bayern Munich star as Ten Hag eyes stunning reunion

Manchester United are set to battle Liverpool and Arsenal for highly-rated Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch this summer, according to reports.

The 20-year-old is widely considered to be one of the most promising young centre-mids in Europe at the moment, alongside Jude Bellingham.

Gravenberch has failed to break into Bayern’s first team this term after falling behind the likes of Leon Goretska and Joshua Kimmich in the pecking order, though, which suggests he may consider a switch to the Premier League this summer.

According to a report from 90Min, Man Utd, along with Liverpool and Arsenal, are tracking the youngster’s situation as they consider tabling an offer for his services.

As previously noted by Football365, with Gravenberch’s contract at the Allianz Arena valid until 2027, his future is

As mentioned, the Netherlands international has struggled to break into the German giant’s starting XI this season, making just six appearances in the Bundesliga so far.

Interestingly, Erik ten Hag was the manager who gave Gravenberch his debut at his previous club, Ajax. In fact, the Man Utd boss oversaw all 103 of the midfielder’s appearances for the Dutch club.

During his time with Ajax, Gravenberch scored 12 goals and made 13 assists – helping them to win three Eredivisie titles and two KNVB Cups in the process.

Given their past relationship, this could put Man Utd ahead of their Premier League rivals in the race for the talented playmaker.

However, both Arsenal and Liverpool are certainly in need of new midfielders, so there could end up being a bidding war for Gravenberch’s services this summer.

Indeed, Mikel Arteta could look to bring in fresh legs this summer to back up ageing midfielders Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey who have, admittedly, had a tremendous season, but both of them aren’t getting any youngster.

But, Jurgen Klopp’s team are arguably the most desperate. James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are all past their prime, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are set to depart Anfield at the end of the season.

Bellingham, until very recently, was considered to be the Reds’ primary summer target. However, due to his astronomical price tag of approximately £130m.

With that in mind, they could now turn their attention to Gravenberch as a cheaper alternative.

There is currently no indication of how much Bayern would accept for the Dutchman this summer. Transfermarkt value him at approximately £30m, but, with three Premier League giants all in the race, his ultimate price tag could end up being much higher.
