There’s “a chance” that Liverpool will sign Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister and Chelsea’s Mason Mount this summer, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
The Reds are looking to sign at least a couple of midfielders in the summer transfer window after announcing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner will leave the club on free transfers at the end of the season.
One player who keeps being linked to Liverpool is Mac Allister with the Argentina international winning the World Cup .
And TYC Sports claim that Mac Allister ‘will leave Brighton for a fortune’ and a ‘deal is complete’ to move to Liverpool this summer with the 24-year-old signing a ‘multi-year deal’.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims the move is getting closer but insists it is not done yet. Romano wrote on Twitter: “Liverpool want to resolve final details of Alexis Mac Allister deal as soon as possible to avoid competition; full agreement on personal terms is really close.
“#LFC Plan is to leave #BHAFC early in the window, been told the move could be done and sealed in June.”
And former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor reckons Chelsea’s Mount could also arrive at Anfield before the end of the summer transfer window.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider: “I would go for Mac Allister.
“I think he is a top player, Mount has not been at his best this season. Mac Allister has won the World Cup, he is showing that Argentinian swagger in his play.
“I really like him I would get him over Mason Mount.
“There could be a chance of a deal for both. Mount will have a year left on his contract and Liverpool need numbers so it would not harm them to get both.”
Speaking earlier this month, former midfielder Paul Ince outlined the qualities that Mac Allister will bring to the Liverpool midfield if they sign him this summer.
“For me, it’s not just about the goal. Watching you play tonight, it’s your work rate, your passing ability, you’re just an all-round player, you know?” Ince said as he interviewed Mac Allister on Sky Sports.
Speaking after Mac Allister had been standing next to him, Ince added: “We were standing next to a World Cup winner. Someone who scored in the last minute against Manchester United, but he’s so humble. He’s talking about the young South American kids that he wants to look after – and he’s young himself.
“But, it’s not about him, it’s about the team ethic and he works within that. He’s happy to tow the line, he’s happy to do the dirty bit of football, but he’s also a very, very talented player.
“The only worry for me, we sat here before the game and spoke to Paul Barber about clubs coming in for players who are playing well, and he’s going to be one of those. He’s gonna be one of those players that clubs are looking at, I hate to say it but I think he could be one of those.”
We’re knee deep in transfer window shenanigans and while this lot aren’t new signings they will feel like they are having barely played last season.
The Manchester United star played with ‘fear’ last season and Louis Saha isn’t buying the ‘excuses’ made for his poor form.
According to reports, Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has decided that he ‘wants to quit’ and is ‘planning to push for a move away’ this summer.
Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister could leave Anfield to sign for Real Madrid ‘within a year’, according to reports.
Mason Mount made a “big mistake” by leaving Chelsea for Man Utd in the summer transfer window, according to ESPN pundit Craig Burley.
Man Utd have offered Mason Mount and Antony to Barcelona in an attempt to offload the duo over the summer, according to reports.
