Manchester United have reportedly added Empoli star Guglielmo Vicario to their list of goalkeeper targets this summer.
David de Gea has reportedly agreed a new deal at United, taking a signifiant hit on his current £375,000-a-week wages.
Despite winning the Premier League Golden Glove, there have been widespread reports of Erik ten Hag wanting to sign a new top quality goalkeeper, with De Gea’s ability with the ball at his feet thought to be an issue for the Dutch boss.
A report last week claimed , and though that was wide of the mark, the Brentford star is expected to leave this summer and is on United’s list of targets.
Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili and Porto star Diogo Costa are also thought to be on the Red Devils shortlist, with all three thought to be valued at around £50-60m.
Cheaper options, and likely backups to De Gea rather than starters are Dinamo Zagreb’s Dominik Livakovic and Leopold Wahlstedt of Norwegian club Odds BK, with .
And Gazzetta dello Sport claim Vicario has been added to the list of cut-price options.
In the report detailing Inter Milan and Napoli interest, as they look for replacements for Andre Onana and Alex Meret, both of whom could be on the move, it’s claimed the Serie A pair need to ‘pay attention abroad’, before naming United.
The 26-year-old conceded 38 goals in 30 league games for Empoli, keeping seven clean sheets in the process.
