Wolves remain winless at home

VfL Wolfsburg lost 4-2 at home to SV Werder Bremen in the final Bundesliga Matchday 7 fixture of the weekend. Tiago Tomas’ strike in the 19th minute gave the hosts the lead, only for Bremen to equalise through Mitchell Weiser in first-half stoppage time (45’+5).

The visitors completed the turnaround after the interval thanks to goals from Felix Agu (51’) and Marvin Ducksch (67’), and an eventful second half was made even worse from a VfL perspective when Patrick Wimmer was sent off (68’).

Werder made the most of their extra man and went 4-1 up through Marco Grüll (72’). Joakim Maehle, on as a substitute, pulled a goal back for the Green-and-Whites (79’) but it was not enough to prevent defeat and leave the Wolves still searching for their first home win of the season.
