The Wolves are now at their training camp in Seefeld, Austria for the next stage of pre-season preparations. We’ll bring you the latest from the training camp and everything else to do with VfL in the Wolf Tracks every day until the end of the camp.
Change of plans: The last training session in Seefeld was originally scheduled for Friday morning, but thick fog rolled in just minutes before the players were due to take to the pitch, followed by heavy rain and a hail storm. As a result, head coach Niko Kovac moved the session to the afternoon.
Friendly live on Wölfe TV: The Wolves’ friendly against SC Freiburg on Saturday will be broadcast live on Wölfe TV. Kick-off is at 14:00 CEST.
Thanking the fans: The Green-and-Whites were cheered on by numerous fans during the entire week in Seefeld. Every day there were between 30 and 40 supporters watching the players go through their paces out on the pitch – and the visitors were not only from Wolfsburg and the surrounding area but from all over Germany. For example, youngster Aik-Fjodor Schäffer travelled with his family to Tyrol from Neuss in North Rhine-Westphalia to watch the VfL first team because his father had promised him they could do so. As a way of saying thank you for their support, and because it has now become a nice tradition, the players, coaching staff and spectators took a group photo together after the final training session as a memento of the training camp.
