Back on the pitch

Pre-season preparations for the 2024/25 campaign have officially begun. Exactly 54 days after the Wolves’ last competitive game, the players were back on the training pitch for the first time on Thursday morning. Kilian Fischer and Yannick Gerhardt were the first of 21 players to take to the grass when they emerged from the changing room at 10:12 CEST.

The players who participated at the European Championship have not yet returned, but will do so over the coming two weeks, depending on how far their nations went at the tournament. Also missing were Lukas Nmecha, Rogerio and Dzenan Pejcinovic, who are all still recovering from injury, while Maxence Lacroix was absent due to personal reasons and Kevin Paredes is away with the USA’s Olympic squad. However, head coach Ralph Hasenhüttl was able to welcome the four summer signings: Bence Dardai, Kamil Grabara, Marius Müller and Mohamed Amoura, who took to the training pitch in Wolfsburg for the first time. Following the warm-up and stretching, the players worked up a sweat in different drills in summery temperatures.
