VfL Wolfsburg have further strengthened their squad shortly before the end of the summer transfer window with Swedish striker Amin Sarr. The 22-year-old forward joins the Wolves on loan from French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais until the end of this season and will wear the number 9 jersey.
Sarr is the Green-and-Whites’ eighth signing of the summer after Cedric Zesiger, Moritz Jenz, Vaclav Cerny, Tiago Tomas, Rogerio, Joakim Maehle and Lovro Majer.
“We’re happy that we’ve found what we were looking for and can complete our attack with Amin Sarr just before the transfer deadline,” said VfL sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz. “In Amin we’re getting an extremely versatile striker, who particularly stands out through his physical and technical qualities and makes us even more variable with his speed and direct play.”
“VfL is a great club and you have a great environment here to develop as a young player,” said Sarr. “That’s why I decided to come here. I’ve followed the team since seeing them play against Malmö in the Europa League and spoke with Mattias Svanberg beforehand. I only heard good things from him, which left me with a positive feeling.”
