“We’ll take the point”

Ole Werner: “We could’ve done better if we’d been a bit more effective and perhaps got into spaces quicker during our build-up. We only started to do that in the second half. In the first half, we were always dangerous on the counter possession and from long balls, and we could’ve potentially been even more effective with that. We defended well on the whole, but lost our men for both of the goals we conceded and let them get away from us, sometimes recognising it too late to shuffle back into shape and support one another. If you take all that into consideration, then you could say that there was definitely the potential to get more out of today’s game. The  bottom line is that both teams deserved the point.”

Michael Zetterer: “The performance was good, so we can live with just one point. Over the past three games, we’ve really put in a decent performance, including in Dortmund where we came home empty handed. We were then rewarded against Union, as well as in Wolfsburg today with a point away from home. It’s not easy to get a result here. We’re capable of winning points against any team, whether that’s Bayern, Dortmund or Frankfurt – it’s irrelevant. If we put 100 percent into our performance and everyone gets stuck in like we have done in the last three games, we have a chance against any team in the league.”

Marvin Ducksch: “My free-kick today was in a perfect position – exactly how I often practice them in training. The wall was also in the perfect place and today it finally worked out for me again. We’re happy that we’ve come away with a point. But, if you look at the quality of our chances, we could have walked off the pitch as deserved winners today. You can see that no one is too shy to go the extra mile when someone makes a mistake. That motivates us greatly and we have to keep building on that. We might then be rewarded with three points away from
home once again.”

Leonardo Bittencourt: “We’ll take the point. We needed to have been a bit braver in order to have won here today. Of course, we also had good opportunities, but for me we were also lacking a bit of conviction when it came to finishing off the move. Perhaps we also didn’t really want to take too much of a risk because we know that the last few weeks haven’t been easy. Nobody can complain about us claiming a point here in Wolfsburg, even though with the way the game went, we also could have got a bit more than that. It will also not be an easy game next week. We are facing an opponent that has enormous quality. If we are even slightly off the pace it will be difficult again, so I am hoping that we all understand that.”
