Marco Friedl and the rest of the team were naturally very disappointed following their defeat in Cologne. After a short, yet in-depth analysis of Sunday’s game, the Green-Whites are using the time now to clear their heads and eradicate any negativity. “The day off was a good opportunity to reflect and leave the frustration behind us”, shared Friedl. “The game went differently to how we had expected. Our plan was to progress further in the Pokal and we were therefore very unhappy with our performance. We now need to concentrate on Friday’s challenge, which is thankfully fast approaching.”
FC Bayern will be in town to officially kick off the 61st season of the Bundesliga at the wohninvest WESERSTADION in just a few days. Friedl made his competitive debut in the Bundesliga for FCB and is approaching the match against his ex-club with great anticipation. “We are professional athletes”, explained the Werder captain. “If we have the mindset that we can’t win this game, then we won’t. We’ve come close a couple of times and have seen that we’re able to beat them. We have to perform at our best for the entire 90 minutes in order to be successful.”
