M4 Energy Renew Their Commitment to Union

‘A project by Unioners for Union’ was the motto in 2016 when 1. FC Union Berlin and partner M4Energy eG offered certified green electricity for the first time. In addition to “Eisernen Strom”, Union fans can now also purchase green gas from the Dresden-based energy cooperative.

M4Energy’s commitment actually goes back much further than that. The company became a partner of the Heldenschmiede youth project at Union as early as 2012 and last year extended its contract as ‘Official Energy Supplier of 1. FC Union Berlin’ until 2026. Now M4Energy is once again expanding its commitment and becoming a top sponsor at the club

Maik Junker, CEO of M4Energy eG, explains the expansion of the commitment as follows: ‘With “Eisernen Strom”, we launched a project almost a decade ago that connects fans, the club and the environment. Now we are going one better with new projects and an expanded commitment. Through the tariff, we not only support the professional teams, but also the numerous partner clubs in the Union environment. This means that the ‘Eisernen Strom’ will remain a strong symbol of solidarity and sustainability in the future.‘

’The collaboration with M4Energy is a prime example of how a long-term partnership with a partner can lead to the sustainable development of a project. We are very pleased to continue our trusting relationship and to take it to a new level,’ said Bernd von Geldern, Chief Commercial Officer at 1. FC Union Berlin, on the signing of the contract.

Switching to a new electricity and gas provider is easy and with 100 per cent green electricity and gas offered, those who switch to Eisernen Strom are also contributing to the promotion of 1. FC Union Berlin’s sports activities.

M4Energy eG will support one of Union’s selected partner clubs with €1,966 for every 500 new contracts concluded in the future.
