Having been on the sidelines for a while with an adductor muscle injury, Borna Sosa made his return to action in the home fixture against SV Werder Bremen last weekend, coming off the bench in the 70th minute.
“It’s positive for me to be back and to be able to help the team out again now,” said the 25-year-old, even if his joy at making his comeback was dampened somewhat by VfB’s 2-0 defeat against a more clinical Bremen side.
“They scored their goals without ever creating any clear-cut chances,” Sosa added. “That’s exactly what we need to work on. Often all we’re lacking is the final ball. We’ll work on solutions together.”
Those solutions will ideally be in place for the Baden-Württemberg derby against SC Freiburg on Saturday. “We’re going to Freiburg and have to show what we want out on the pitch, which is to stay in the Bundesliga. Once we get our first win, everything will become easier.”
