Match summary:
After even opening exchanges, the VfB U19s took charge of the game at the Stadion auf der Waldau in Stuttgart, although all three goals came in the second 45 minutes. The hosts were solid defensively and efficient in attack in the second half, and 3-0 was a fair final scoreline.

Goals
53rd minute: Lauri Penna tries his luck from the edge of the opposition box and finds the far corner with a precise left-footed shot to open the scoring.

82nd minute: After being played in down the left side, Deli Hajdini beats his marker with two clever turns before firing a low shot into the far corner to make it 2-0 to VfB.

84th minute: Just two minutes after the decisive second goal, Penna has another go from the edge of the area and scores to make it 3-0.

Reaction

Nico Willig, VfB U19 coach: “We’re happy that we won this game without conceding and registered the first European win. The margin of victory is also deserved. We were pleased with the performance but not the scoreline in the first half because we had enough opportunities. Lauri’s goal broke the deadlock and unshackled us to an extent.”

U19 line-up:

Hellstern – Janjic, Agzikara, Scott, Azevedo – Catovic, Korkut (85′ Lüers) – Boakye (85′ Durna), Penna (85′ Migalic), Malanga (59′ Tsigkas) – Bujupi (72′ Hajdini).
