A member of VfB’s Bundesliga squad since the start of the current campaign, Thomas Kastanaras has made four top-flight appearances for the club this season. The 20-year-old striker won’t feature again before the end of the season, however, after fracturing a metatarsal in his right foot during the Under-21s’ 2-0 win at SG Barockstadt Fulda-Lehnerz on Saturday. Kastanaras was operated on by team doctor Dr. Raymond Best on Tuesday and will be sidelined for three to four months, depending on how quickly the injury heals.
