Reunited

Genki Haraguchi has made seven Bundesliga appearances for VfB since signing for the club from Union in January. He played 41 league games for the Berlin outfit after joining in 2021, scoring twice.
Rani Khedira has also been an Union player since 2021. Having been part of VfB’s youth setup since 2005, the Stuttgart native made his first nine Bundesliga appearances for the Cannstatt side during the 2013/14 campaign. Khedira has scored seven goals in 194 top-flight outings overall.
After joining the club’s U17s in 2011, Timo Baumgartl was handed his professional debut by VfB in 2014. Baumgartl spent four and a half years in Stuttgart, making 86 appearances in the top flight and a further 29 in the second tier (scoring two goals). After a two-year stint at PSV Eindhoven he was loaned to Union, for whom he has made 32 Bundesliga appearances to date (scoring once).

Personnel

Serhou Guirassy is expected to miss the trip to Berlin – the striker has been unable to complete a full training session with his team-mates since recovering from injury.  Silas has been struggling with a muscle problem and is also a doubt for the game. Union are without András Schäfer, who remains in light training following a foot injury.
