Bo Larsson joined VfB Stuttgart from Malmö FF in 1966. The 1965 Swedish Footballer of the Year immediately provided the desired attacking reinforcement and went on to score 21 goals in 88 Bundesliga appearances over the next three years, playing a key role in VfB’s steady rise in the second half of the 60s. The likeable, reserved Swede also entered the club’s history books on Matchday 30 of the 1966/67 season when he scored the first hat-trick in VfB’s Bundesliga history.

After a total of 95 competitive appearances in the shirt with the red hoop, Larsson returned home to Malmö to continue his hugely successful career, which he then ended in 1980 with Trelleborgs FF. He won 70 caps for Sweden.

VfB will always honour Larsson’s memory and would like to take this opportunity to express its condolences to the bereaved.
