VfB’s Guinean international and current top goalscorer Serhou Guirassy has won September’s Bundesliga Player of the Month vote, fending off the likes of Bayern Munich duo Leroy Sané and Harry Kane, Bayer 04 Leverkusen pair Alejandro Grimaldo and Victor Boniface, and VfB team-mate Chris Führich.
“I’m very pleased to have been named Player of the Month,” Guirassy said. “I want to thank my team-mates, without whom this wouldn’t have been possible, as well as everyone who voted for me.”
