Jae-Sung Lee (South Korea), Edimilson Fernandes (Switzerland) and Silvan Widmer (Switzerland) are through to the last 16 of the World Cup. Lee featured for 65 minutes in South Korea’s stunning 2-1 victory over Portugal on Friday afternoon, which sealed his side’s spot in the knockouts. The win meant that South Korea leapfrogged Uruguay and Ghana to take up second place in Group H.

It was also good news for Switzerland on Friday as they beat Serbia 3-2 in what was a hard-fought match at 974 Stadium in Doha. The win put Switzerland on six points, which was enough to book their place in the last 16. Our skipper Silvan Widmer, who got the assist for the Swiss’ second goal, played for the full 90 minutes, whereas Fernandes was brought on in the 68th minute.

Lee’s South Korea will face Brazil on Monday, 5th December (20:00 CET), whilst Switzerland will face Portugal the following day (20:00 CET).
