Centre back Alexander Hack has been handed a two-game suspension applying to Bundesliga games by the DFB. The 29-year-old was shown a red card for a professional foul in the closing stages of the first half of Mainz’s away defeat against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

Hack will miss the home game against Hertha BSC on Friday evening (20:30 CEST) as well as the first game back after the international break away against SC Freiburg on 1st October (15:30 CEST). The centre back will be available for selection again a week later when Mainz host former player Marco Rose and his RB Leipzig side.
