FC Basel and RB Leipzig have agreed to end the loan agreement of Hugo Novoa at the end of the 2022/23 season. The original deal was due to run until summer 2024.
Novoa joined the Swiss side in January 2023 and made 17 appearances, recording one goal and three assists.
The 20-year-old has a contract until June 2025 with RB Leipzig and the club plans to arrange another loan move to allow him to gain first-team match practice with another club in the coming season.
Novoa, who is a Spanish youth international and joined the club in July 2019 from Derportivo La Coruña, has made 23 appearances for RB Leipzig.
