It was a successful end to the international week from a TSG perspective, with Wout Weghorst and David Jurásek celebrating victories with their national teams. The Netherlands striker also got himself on the scoresheet, netting in the fourth minute of stoppage time to complete a 4-0 victory against Iceland. The Hoffenheim forward had only been brought on as a substitute in the 84th minute – he had already scored from the bench in the previous friendly against Canada (4-0).

David Jurásek also entered the fray late on in Czechia’s friendly against North Macedonia (2-1). He might not have found the back of the net after coming on as a substitute in the 66th minute but he injected energy into the game and played an important role in helping the hosts score the goal to make it 2-1 in stoppage time.

The European Championships in Germany begin on Friday – with Hoffenheim involvement straightaway: a Germany team featuring TSG players Oliver Baumann and Maximilian Beier, who were both included in the squad for the finals by coach Julian Nagelsmann, will take on Scotland in the opening match in Munich (21:00 CEST).
