Dennis Geiger suffered a muscular injury in the back of his right thigh after coming on as a second-half substitute in the game against SV Werder Bremen. TSG will have to do without the midfielder until further notice.
“It’s very bitter and emotional for the lad. But he’ll get through it. I’m absolutely sure of that. Dennis is a fighter, will come back stronger and then also show what he can do on the pitch again,” TSG head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo said directly after the game, in a statement that showed the entire team is behind 25-year-old Geiger and will support him in his rehab process.
