128.94 kilometres – that is how far the TSG Hoffenheim players ran on Saturday in the 3-2 victory at Werder Bremen. No team has run more in the season so far. TSG are really going the extra mile and it is paying dividends. Over the season so far, head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo’s team have already covered more than 847 kilometres. That’s around the distance from Sinsheim to Bremen and back as the crow flies. Only 1. FC Heidenheim have a longer total distance run at 855 km.

Grischa Prömel also set a season record in the 3-2 success: the midfielder ran 14.15 kilometres and was rewarded with a goal and an assist to his name. No other Bundesliga player has broken the 14-kilometre mark this season. But Prömel wasn’t the only one to rack up an impressive mileage: Anton Stach (12.80 km), Wout Weghorst (12.30 km) and Pavel Kadeřábek (12.19 km) were also among the strongest runners of the day.

Things at TSG are currently running smoothly – in the truest sense of the word.
