Prömel: “Compliments to the team”

Oliver Baumann: “Finally the second home win, we’ve been waiting long enough for it. We embraced Bochum’s game, gave almost nothing away, had super control and many chances. We were a bit patchy towards the end. We absolutely wanted to keep a clean sheet but it wasn’t to be, because Paciencia smashed the ball into the top corner. You also have to applaud that, but we’re still frustrated. We still need to take a few steps in order to improve.”

Grischa Prömel: “Every Bundesliga match is special to me, the 100th one today too of course. I never would have dreamt of playing so many matches in the Bundesliga. It’s a nice landmark, but it honestly wasn’t even on my mind.  It was about time that we won at home again. We put everything into it, Bochum are not easy to play against. My compliments to the team, we took the fight to them and were present in the decisive duels. Not much went wrong at the back and we made a mark going forward. The goal we conceded still hurts though, because we had firmly set out to keep a clean sheet. We’ll now go to Leipzig to win. We’ve already shown what we’re capable of away from home.”

Andrej Kramarić: “We finally won at home. We’re happy with our second home victory of the season. We performed superbly today. I hope it goes like that in the future too. But we need to win more often at home. It’s a shame that we conceded the goal to make it 3-1. I have to be honest and say that we were all annoyed.”

Pellegrino Matarazzo: “We’re satisfied because we created a lot of chances on the counter-attack. All the players were prepared to defend, which was an important factor in the success today. We gave away a bit too much in the final phase. Overall, though, it was a good performance from our boys.”

Markus Feldhoff (VfL Bochum assistant coach): “I’m here on behalf of our head coach Thomas Letsch. He received a message that required him to leave immediately. TSG forced us to have a lot of possession of the ball, but we only had it where we could not pose a goal threat. We once again did not have the control that we wanted.”
