A mixed afternoon for Andrej Kramarić and Croatia: 1-0 behind, 2-1 ahead and then pegged back to 2-2 shortly before the final whistle. Head coach Zlatko Dalic’s team found themselves 1-0 down to Albania with 20 minutes remaining but then Andrej Kramarić stepped up to the plate: the TSG striker scored in typical Kramarić style with a cutback into the middle and a low shot into the bottom left corner to level the scores at 1-1.
Croatia scored to make it 2-1 only two minutes later and Kramarić was involved in that goal too: TSG’s record goalscorer initiated the goal with a perfect through-ball to Ante Budimir. Klaus Gjasula then scored what was an unfortunate own goal from Albania’s point of view. The TSG player was substituted on the 85-minute mark and had to watch from the bench as Gjasula struck late to equalise at 2-2 in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
With one point from two matches, Kramarić & Co will face a tough task to reach the round of 16 when they take on Italy in their final group game (Monday at 21:00 CEST).
Oliver Baumann, Maximilian Beier and Attila Szalai were unused substitutes in Germany’s 2-0 victory against Hungary.
