“Julian is a talented player who has demonstrated his abilities but his performances here in Hoffenheim have been subject to fluctuations, meaning that he has not been able to fully assert himself during his time with us,” said Frank Kramer, the interim Head of Sport at TSG, before adding that “Julian is a very ambitious player who is targeting significantly more playing time. For this reason, he has now approached us and expressed his desire to leave the club. We believe the transfer to Nürnberg to be an optimal solution for all parties. In terms of his character, Julian is a super lad and we wish him all the very best for his personal and sporting future.”

Julian Justvan moved to TSG Hoffenheim from second-tier SC Paderborn in the summer of 2023. However, the midfielder was unable to make a lasting impression in the Kraichgau, which led to TSG loaning the 26-year-old Landshut native to then Bundesliga club SV Darmstadt 98 for six months in January of this year. During his time in Hoffenheim, Justvan played four Bundesliga matches, two games in the DFB-Pokal (one goal) and made another appearance for TSG’s Regionalliga team. In Darmstadt, Justvan made 14 appearances in the top tier of German football in the second half of last season (two goals and two assists).
