Presenter Mike Diehl kicked off the ordinary, unscheduled general meeting, which had become necessary due to Kristian Baumgärtner’s resignation for health reasons at the beginning of July, with a quarter of an hour delay.

Second Chairwoman Simone Engelhardt, who had been serving as the association’s interim Chairwoman since then, initially appointed Helmut Kuhr to chair the meeting. The lawyer had previously presided over general meetings. But the agenda was amended at the start in accordance with a corresponding motion, which meant that Simone Engelhardt first summarised the events of the past weeks in her ‘Executive Board Report’ and, among other things, addressed the reasons for the parting of ways with Managing Director Sport Alexander Rosen. She then fielded questions from the members.

As a total of around 40 motions had been received in advance of the meeting, which all had to be debated and voted on, the third item on the agenda, the election of the new First Chairman, was only tackled at a late hour. In addition to Albrecht, 29-year-old mechatronics engineer Marvin Rotermundt stood for election, with the duo given the opportunity to introduce themselves to the 956 members present in a five-minute speech.

Helmut Kuhr announced the result at 22:55 CEST. With 273 votes in favour, Jörg Albrecht was elected as the new First Chairman of TSG Hoffenheim. The 55-year-old accepted the election outcome. Simone Engelhardt (Second Chairwoman) and Frank Engelhardt (Third Chairman) complete the Executive Board. Rotermundt received 123 votes.
