It was an exciting match – with the perfect outcome for Florian Grillitsch and the Austria national team. Ralf Rangnick’s charges ran out 3-1 (1-1) victors against Poland in Berlin and now have good prospects of progressing ahead of the final matchday. Florian Grillitsch was in the starting XI and was substituted at the interval. Former Hoffenheim player Christoph Baumgartner scored to make the score 2-1.
The Netherlands and France then drew 0-0 in the evening. Wout Weghorst was brought on in the 79th minute but could not help to secure the desired victory. Nonetheless, the draw means the TSG striker’s national team sit top of Group D with four points. France are level on points in second place, while Austria are in third place with three points and Poland, who still have no points, are bottom.
