Great joy at TSG: Goalkeeper Oliver Baumann and forward Maximilian Beier have been included in the EURO squad by national team coach Julian Nagelsmann. It is a great honour for both players, who have yet to make their debut in a DFB shirt. “I’m hugely delighted to be involved. It’s a dream to be represented at the EURO in your own country,” said Oliver Baumann. “I’ve worked for a long time to be part of the national team squad. This call-up is therefore definitely a highlight.” Maximilian Beier, who at 21 years of age is the third-youngest player in Julian Nagelsmann’s squad, said: “I’m very proud and very happy that I’ve been called up. It’s definitely the greatest thing that has happened in my career to date.” It will be the first international tournament for both TSG players.

“It’s fantastic that both of them are at the European Championships. They’ve performed superbly throughout the season. The entire TSG family is happy for them, it’s a great thing,” said TSG head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo, whose sentiments were shared by Managing Director Alexander Rosen: “I feel joy and pride. I still remember Maxi playing in the academy; now he might be the Rookie of the Season. A really great story. Oli has been with us for a long time now, he is a very special player and person and absolutely deserves this call-up.”

Many congratulations, Oli and Maxi!
