“Angelo is without question a talented player. Last season, however, he did not get the playing time that he expected and it has therefore been signalled to us for some time that he does not see his future at Hoffenheim,” said Alexander Rosen. “Even his recent appearances could not change that, which is why we ultimately agreed to the transfer while also taking the economic aspects into account,” explained the TSG Managing Director.
“Angelo joined TSG on a free transfer and developed from a third-tier to a Bundesliga player with us. He has thus followed a path which many players before him have successfully trodden and which many players will also take in the future. We’re firmly convinced that we will be able to make up for his role in the squad with the players that we already have at our disposal,” remarked Pirmin Schwegler, Head of Professional Football at TSG Hoffenheim.
Angelo Stiller moved to Hoffenheim from the Bayern Munich second team in July 2021. In his two years at TSG, the Germany U21 international made 47 appearances in the Bundesliga (three goals) and played five matches in the DFB-Pokal (one).
Stiller, who made his debut for the U21 national team in September 2021 and has made 17 appearances for the side (two goals), will once again link up with Sebastian Hoeness, the man who discovered and developed him, in Stuttgart. Stiller was coached by him both FC Bayern Munich and TSG Hoffenheim.
