”Angeliño is not just a brilliant footballer and one of the best assist providers in the Bundesliga; he is also a cool guy, who fully identified with us,” says TSG director of football, Alexander Rosen. ”His performances were a key factor in us closing out a tough season with a satisfying finish in 12th place. Unfortunately, a further contract is not economically feasible for us under the current conditions. But should a window of opportunity open up, we would at least be willing to talk,” Rosen explains.

Angeliño joined TSG on loan from Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig in August 2022 and made a total of 33 Bundesliga appearances for the club. He set up ten goals, making him one of the top assist providers in the league. Only Randal Kolo Muani (Eintracht Frankfurt), Raphaël Guerreiro (Borussia Dortmund, 12 each), Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich) and Florian Kainz (1. FC Köln, 11 each) notched up more assists this season. The 26-year-old Spaniard also played two games in the DFB-Pokal for TSG Hoffenheim, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
