Lino Tempelmann arrived at SC from TSV 1860 München in 2017 and initially played for the club’s U19 and U23 sides. In 2019/20, he made the step up to the first team and celebrated his Bundesliga debut in October 2019. A further eleven competitive appearances followed. The 24-year-old spent the last two season on loan at 1. FC Nürnberg, where he played 62 second-division games, scoring six goals. He wore the captain’s armband for FCN in their final three matches of last season.

Lino was a regular at Nürnberg over the last two years. We weren’t able to promise him the game time he deserves as an experienced 2. Bundesliga player in the short term,” said sporting director Klemens Hartenbach. “The move to FC Schalke 04 is a good solution for both parties. We wish Lino all the best in his new chapter at a big club like Schalke, and hope to see him again soon.”
