“We will require extraordinary performances to go through in this group and that’s exactly what we’re hoping for from our team,” said Hans-Joachim Watzke. The reactions to the draw.

Hans-Joachim Watzke (Chairman of the board): “Our group is definitely the most difficult, a hammer group. But we’ll embrace it. We’ll face three absolute top opponents. We will require extraordinary performances to go through in this group and that’s exactly what we’re hoping for from our team.”

Sebastian Kehl (Sporting director): “An absolute cracker of a group. We’re looking forward to these games and to a reunion with one or two former BVB players too. For me, that is Champions League. We will do everything in our power to go through and have the capabilities required to do so. I think that all the other teams also did not want Borussia Dortmund as an opponent.”

Edin Terzic (Head coach): “This group is a real challenge. A challenge that we’re looking forward to and will approach with full conviction. Paris St. Germain, AC Milan and Newcastle United: three strong opponents await us. But that doesn’t change anything about the fact that we’ll head into the Champions League with big ambitions and want to reach the knockout phase.”

Emre Can (Team captain): “We definitely got the strongest of all the groups. Every team has the quality to reach the knockout phase. That’s our objective. Difficult tasks await us, but we’re also definitely not an opponent that the other teams want to face.”
