Borussia Dortmund will start and finish the 2023/24 season with a home game. 1. FC Cologne will be the visitors to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK on Matchday 1 (19 or 20 August). The final game of the season will also take place at the Strobelallee: BVB will play host to SV Darmstadt 98 on 18 May 2024.
“Borussia Dortmund versus 1. FC Cologne: that’s a tradition-steeped, great all-NRW clash right at the beginning,” said Hans-Joachim Watzke: “The next week we’re off to Bochum, where have recently always struggled. Overall, it’s a great, challenging start for the BVB fans with some emotional matches. We have to be at full strength from the beginning.”

As is tradition, a match involving the reigning champion will kick off the season (Friday 18 August). The only “English week” of the season (19-20 December) will be followed by a three-week winter break. The campaign will get back under way with Matchday 17 on 12 January 2024; the champion of Germany will be crowned on 18 May 2024. (br)
