Borussia Dortmund will be away to VfL Bochum on Saturday. Kick-off is at 15:30 CET. We have compiled all the info on our first away game of the 2023/24 Bundesliga season in a compact format below. This page will be updated if there is any news.
Line-up: Three changes to the starting XI
The only absentees from the squad are Julien Duranville, Thomas Meunier, Giovanni Reyna and Julian Ryerson. Mateu Morey is in the first-team matchday squad for the first time since 1 May 2021 (847 days ago), when he suffered a serious knee injury in the cup semi-final against Kiel. There are three changes to the starting XI compared to the opening game against Köln: Marius Wolf, Nico Schlotterbeck and Felix Nmecha are replacing Ryerson, Marco Reus and Niklas Süle (both bench).
Bor. Dortmund: Kobel, Wolf, Hummels, N. Schlotterbeck, Bensebaini, Can, Sabitzer, Nmecha, Brandt, Malen, Haller
Referee: Robert Schröder to take charge
The 37-year-old match official from Hanover is set to oversee a Bundesliga game involving BVB for the seventh time. There have previously been five Dortmund wins – most recently a 5-1 at home to SC Freiburg – and one defeat: the 2-1 loss away to Freiburg in August 2021. Dr. Jan Neitzel-Petersen and Norbert Grudzinski will assist on the sidelines, with Daniel Schlager the video assistant.
Fans: Full support
The away contingent for the Ruhrstadion (2,766 tickets) is sold-out. The demand was very high, with some BVB supporters also purchasing tickets outside of the away blocks.
Live broadcast: Sky & Net Radio
The match can be watched live on TV via Sky. The pre-match coverage will start at 14:00 CET on Sky Sport Bundesliga and will be presented by Michael Leopold (pictured). Frank Buschmann will be the simulcast commentator. The BVB Net Radio will give you the usual Black & Yellow take, with Boris Rupert and Christoph Bökamp on the mic. Match highlights as well as the press conference and match reactions will be available on BVB TV, among others.
