After the 4-0 win over Frankfurt, head coach Edin Terzic spoke to the media along with Julian Brandt, Gregor Kobel, Karim Adeyemi and double goalscorer Donyell Malen.
Julian Brandt (to BVB-TV): “The world moves fast, today more in the direction of Dortmund again. Here in this atmosphere, it’s enormously difficult for any opponent. Many of the lads played a very, very good game today. We were quite a bit more stable than in Stuttgart, for example. As long as you’re solid at the back, you have a super foundation to score goals going forward.”
Edin Terzic (at the press conference): “We’re satisfied with the performance and with the result too. But it’s only a step that we’ve taken. Every player wanted to show that the way we performed in the second half in Stuttgart last week did not meet our standards and was also not what we deserve when you see what we have invested over the course of the season to date. We’re very satisfied with the game today, but we’re still not happy and we still have a lot of work ahead of us.”
Donyell Malen (to BVB-TV): “During the warm-up, we already felt that there was something special in the air. This home win feels good. We played well, and I’m also playing very well at the moment. You want to score goals as a forward, they give you the best feeling. The last week has been rather emotional, not the nicest emotions, and it feels really good now, a week later, to be the league leaders. We now need to stay focused and simply just play our football.”
Gregor Kobel (to Sky): “There are five games remaining in which we will be pushed hard. We want to focus on ourselves in the last few games. The fans were there, they spurred us on. It’s almost never easy in games like this, but you choose to do this job for such moments. It’s a huge joy to be able to play games like this at home.”
Karim Adeyemi (to BVB-TV): “That’s how quickly football goes. We showed that we wanted to go up into first, played super and are very happy about it. It was very intense. Marco said to me on the bus already that the stadium would go crazy today – for me, it’s a goosebumps moment every time, it was really awesome today. Best stadium in the world!”
