Matchday 33 is over. Borussia Dortmund ran out 3-0 winners away to FC Augsburg. Sporting director Sebastian Kehl and head coach Edin Terzic were not the only ones to speak to DAZN after the game, with the two goalscorers Sébastian Haller, who netted twice, and Julian Brandt joining them. The match reactions.

Sébastien Haller: “If someone had told me six months ago that I’d be in this situation today, I wouldn’t have believed it. We have all invested a lot and there is now a huge opportunity to achieve something very big. We have missed a few opportunities in the past but we’ve now taken this one. We have spoken a lot about needing to stick to our principles and stay positive. I’m proud of the team.”

Julian Brandt: “The pressure is slightly off for today at least. The last weeks have been turbulent, if I think back to the away games in Stuttgart and in Bochum. After the many winless away games, we’ve done our homework in Augsburg. We could have taken the lead and also scored the second goal in the first half in order to make the rest of the game easier for ourselves. It was a heated game and yet we won it. We’re not German champions yet and need to win our home game too. There is huge anticipation, the city will be fired up. We’ll prepare ourselves extremely well for this game and are aware of our opportunity. An emotional match at Signal Iduna Park with a huge atmosphere awaits us.”

Sebastian Kehl: “We deservedly won in the end and took an important step today. We’ll soak up the euphoria and take it with us. We need another 90 minutes at our stadium with the power that we’ve shown in recent weeks. Now we mustn’t let it be taken away from us! I’m really happy for the team. We will do everything and be very focused next week. We had a difficult first half of the season. Now we’ve seized the opportunity. But it wasn’t easy, Augsburg were very aggressive.”

Edin Terzic: “This year, we’re closer than we have been for a long time. Now we need to go full-throttle and then we can finally – hopefully! – hold the Championship Shield in our hands. We now need the emotions in the city, in the stadium, and we’ll take care of the football. And in such a way that we are present from the start again, play a good game and see it through to the end. Now it’s about taking this one step together. We’ve picked up 70 points so far. That couldn’t have been foreseen before the season, after the overhaul and in particular after the illnesses and the injuries.”
