Following the 3-2 friendly win over Manchester United, captain Emre Can and his deputy Gregor Kobel drew their conclusions.
Emre Can: “It was certainly better today than in San Diego. It wasn’t easy as Manchester United’s movement on the pitch was extremely good. But we held our own well, were aggressive and scored the goals at the right time.”
Gregor Kobel: “Manchester United are a very strong team with enormous quality. They positioned themselves very well between the spaces and caused us problems at times. Our takeaway from this can be that we produced our best performance of pre-season. We were tactically disciplined and defended whatever came at us well from the back. It’s a good victory that gives us self-confidence and it’s a step in the right direction.” (cr)
