The Borussia Dortmund women’s reserve team made sure of their promotion to the Bezirksliga on Sunday evening. Coach Ingo Kuhl’s charges ran out 12-0 winners against TSV Fichte Hagen, who sit in third place in the Kreisliga A table.
It means that the Black & Yellows can no longer be ousted from the top two spots in the Kreisliga A Promotion Group, which guarantee promotion to the Bezirksliga, with two rounds of matches to go. They will now battle with second-placed SF Sölderholz for the title over the coming weeks. The BVB Women II currently top the standings with a four-point lead, with the head-to-head meeting away in Sölderholz to come on the final day of the season (29/05).
Following a dominant Qualification Round and a maximum points haul (39), the team have continued their positive run in the Final Round. Only the game against TV Brechten II was retrospectively recognised as a 2-0 defeat. The Black & Yellows have scored 92 goals and conceded only three in 11 matches.
The team, which was only founded before the start of this season, can therefore already celebrate promotion in their first season. That same feat was already achieved by the Borussia Dortmund senior women’s team a year ago. The BVB Women followed that up with another promotion to the Landesliga around a month ago.
