BV. Borussia 09 e.V. Dortmund welcomed its 175,000th club member during the home match against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Based on the number of members, BVB are only surpassed by one club in Germany.

Ahead of kick-off, 15-year-old Paula from Wetter was welcomed as a BVB member by club president Dr. Reinhold Lunow, vice president Silke Seidel and treasurer Bernd Möllmann. 

“I grew up as a BVB fan from a very young age, as my family’s heart has always belonged to Borussia Dortmund. For me, membership is a great way to show everyone my connection with BVB,” said Paula.

Bayern Munich are the only club in Germany with more members (around 300,000). In third place behind BVB are Schalke 04 (about 164,000 members).
