On Friday morning, the Borussia Dortmund women’s handball team set off to Graz for the Final Four of the EHF European League. Several Black & Yellow fans have made their way to Austria to support the team. On the agenda after their arrival was a final training session and a media round.
The Eurowings fan airbus touched down in Graz, the venue of the EHF Finals, at 12:27 CET. Henk Groener’s team will meet Nykøbing Falster Handbold from Denmark in the semi-finals on Saturday (18:00 CET, live on DAZN). Although the Black & Yellows were not greeted by sunshine upon their arrival, nothing could dampen their high spirits and excitement for the weekend ahead.
“It is unbelievable what we have already achieved this season in Europe, but now of course we want to top it off by lifting the trophy,” said Harma van Kreij during the afternoon media session at the team hotel. “I’m especially happy to see that so many fans have come along. It’s really great,” she added.
In any case, the mood in the camp is one of great excitement. “Everyone is looking forward to the first game, and we are all a bit on edge,” said the Dutchwoman, going on to add: “You could feel the excitement among everyone right from the start. And it was also good to be able to train in the hall. It allows you to get a real feel for it. The hall is really impressive.”
