Last Saturday, a very special event took place in the most beautiful stadium in the world: for its 10th anniversary, the TalentMetropole Ruhr Foundation collaborated with Borussia Dortmund to organise a first ever TalentFestival.
Around 950 young people from the Ruhr region took part and were able to pick from over 20 workshops and activities. In addition, BVB also provided information about their vocational training programmes and offered stadium tours every hour. The poster boy of Black & Yellow eFootball, Erné Embeli, was also present and played several games with the attendees.
“Supporting young people from Dortmund and the entire Ruhr region is something that is really close to our hearts. We create a stage and a platform for young people, they address the topics that really interest them, they gain new experiences, discover their strengths and get to meet role models. This allows them to develop self-confidence and perhaps even a career perspective,” explained BVB managing director Carsten Cramer.
Whether it was “Climate Worlds”, “Game Development” or “Furniture Making” – all workshops were geared around career guidance, talent building and personal development. The entire event was free of charge for the young people, including travel, educational activities and food and drink.
The TalentFestival was supported by partners TalentMetropole Ruhr, BVB, ProFiliis, SIGNAL IDUNA and Vivawest.
