VfL Bochum 1848 has made Vasileios Lampropoulos a new contract offer, which the Greek international has accepted. Lampropoulos, who’s been at the club since January 2020, will now stay until June 30, 2023. To date, the centre-back has played 35 competitive matches for VfL, including 13 games in the Bundesliga.

The 32-year-old initially joined on a six-month loan from Spanish second-division club Deportivo La Coruña in January 2020. He then signed by VfL on a free transfer after the Galicians were relegated to the third division.

Sebastian Schindzielorz, Director of Sport at VfL Bochum 1848, is pleased that the player has stayed: “Vasileios Lampropoulos has proven that we can rely on him. He was part of our promotion squad and made his contribution to staying in the league last season. Now he has the chance to add another chapter to these successful ones. Vasilios is a team player on and off the pitch, with his positive attitude an asset to our team.”

“Since I joined VfL two and a half years ago, we have gone from strength to strength. I am very happy to have been able to become part of this team and I am even happier to continue being part of it,” said Vasileios Lampropoulos. “We have achieved a lot as a team. Hopefully, as a team, we can build on this year’s success next season.”
