For years now, VfL and its players have been visiting the children at Bochum Clinic for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the Ruhr University Bochum at Easter and on St. Nicholas Day. For both the players and the children, these visits are always a special highlight in the calendar. The Bochum Children’s Clinic is one of four cooperation partners of VfL Bochum 1848 within the framework of the AKTION GLÜCK AUF! campaign.
However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Easter surprise could unfortunately once again not take place with a visit from the professionals on site. But, VfL thought of an alternative plan for the children and young people who have to spend the Easter days in the hospital. Senior physician Eggert Lilienthal accepted on Tuesday not only a large stack of autograph cards of the VfL professionals, but also numerous VfL chocolate Easter bunnies. With warm greetings from the team, he distributed the gifts on behalf of Toto and Co.
VfL’s wishes all children a happy Easter and a quick as well as full recovery and hopes that the players will be able to visit again in person next year!
We would also like to extend a very special thank you to all the staff of the children’s hospital and the other hospitals and care facilities in Bochum, who are working tirelessly and doing incredible work, not only during the Corona pandemic. Many thanks for that!
