The DFB Sports Court has requested suspensions for VfL head coach Thomas Reis as well as midfielder Konstantinos Stafylidis in single-judge proceedings. Both were punished with a red card in the last points match at SC Freiburg.

Thomas Reis is to be given a ban of one championship game for his “inappropriate hand gesture”. According to Reis, the fourth official had mistakenly made the gesture towards himself, but he was referring to his own player, Konstantinos Stafylidis, after his foul and subsequent red card. Even in this case, according to the DFB’s argumentation, the ban would be upheld because the facts of unsportsmanlike conduct were fulfilled. VfL Bochum 1848 agrees with this DFB ruling.

A three-game suspension has been requested for Konstantinos Stafylidis for rough play. VfL Bochum 1848 has appealed against this ruling.
