Arsenal legend Ray Parlour thinks his former club “will have one hand on the title” if they win against Liverpool at Anfield this weekend.

The Gunners have put themselves in a great position heading into the final few games of the 2022/23 Premier League season.

They are currently eight points clear of Manchester City but Pep Guardiola’s side still have one game in hand.

One of Arsenal’s biggest tests during the run-in comes this weekend when they travel to Anfield to battle Liverpool. They also face City, Newcastle and Chelsea before the end of the season.

. Parlour thinks it will be “another big sign” that they are “the real deal” if they beat Jurgen Klopp’s side again.

“Arsenal will have one hand on the title if they beat Liverpool,” Parlour told Netbet. “This is one of the toughest games of their season, even though Liverpool have been really inconsistent this term, you never know which Liverpool will turn up.

“Jurgen Klopp will be scratching his head wondering where he is going wrong, but they always seem to raise their game against Arsenal.

“If Arsenal get a result here it’s another big sign that these players are the real deal and that they can go all the way. Manchester City will start panicking if Arsenal keep picking up wins away at teams like Liverpool.

“But it’s going to be tight and I think a point would be a good result for Arsenal. If I was to bet on it I would go with a draw, a 2-2 draw. Both defences with the firepower on the pitch will be vulnerable. Arsenal have been very good defensively but I do see goals in this game, so I’ll go for 2-2.”

Parlour also thinks Arsenal need “start on the front foot” if they are going to pick up any points at Anfield.

“They’ve got to do what they’ve been doing for the last three quarters of the season – start on the front foot and put the pressure on Liverpool straight away,” Parlour added.

“I don’t like sitting back at Anfield, it invites the team onto you and the crowd responds to that. They have to start well and try and silence the crowd.
