Besides Füllkrug, Ilia Gruev has also been called up for his national side. The defensive midfielder will represent Bulgaria for their international fixtures. Under head coach Mladen Krstajic, they are competing in Group G of the European Championship qualifiers, and are currently in last place. The team have the chance to improve on this position with games against Lithuania (17/6) and Serbia (20/6).
Marco Friedl and Romano Schmid are still hoping to be named for European Championship qualifiers against Belgium (17/6) and Sweden (20/6), while Jiri Pavlenka would face Faroe Island (17/6) and Montenegro (20/6) with the Czech Republic, should he receive a call-up. Likewise, Fabio Chiarodia has been named for the Italy U19 training camp in Florence. Lee Buchanan is on-call for England for the U21 European Championship.
