1. FC Union Berlin take on Eintracht Frankfurt on Easter Sunday at 17:30 at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei.

Review — The last match:

1. FC Union Berlin came away from the Olympic Stadium with derby bragging rights for the third time in this campaign, defeating Hertha 4-1. Urs Fischer’s produced a dominant performance to follow up on the 2-0 league win in Köpenick and the 3-2 German Cup triumph on Hertha turf. Union peppered Hertha’s box and goalkeeper Marcel Lotka was in inspired form. He was beaten by a header from Genki Haraguchi before Timo Baumgartl put the ball past Frederik Rönnow to bring the score level at the start of the second half. Grischa Prömel headed Union in front a few minutes later while Sheraldo Becker wrapped up a terrific display with a great goal to kill the contest. Sven Michel came on as a substitute and scored his first goal for the club following his January transfer from Paderborn.

Eintracht Frankfurt — Opposition Report:

Oliver Glasner’s Eintracht Frankfurt are now UEFA Europa League semi-finalists following a 3-2 win at the Camp Nou in Barcelona. More than 25,000 fans travelled to Spain, packing out more than a third of the famous stadium to watch their team reach the last four of the competition. Filip Kostic scored a double on Thursday, while Rafael Borre fired in a spectacular goal to send the Eagles on their way to a semi-final match against West Ham. While Europe has been a story of success this season, Frankfurt are still battling to qualify for continental football for next season. Glasner’s team are five behind Union and have stumbled in their last few games, losing to Freiburg at home and drawing with Greuther Fürth and Leipzig.

Eintracht Frankfurt — The coach’s view:

“Congratulations to Eintracht Frankfurt on last night’s result. They did so much right in both matches, the progression was well deserved. The performance was very good, they had a plan and implemented it. To win 3-2 in the Camp Nou is exceptional,” Urs Fischer said in the pre-match press conference.

Personnel:

Andreas Luthe has trained fully this week after missing sessions last week. The coach confirmed he would make a decision tomorrow after the final session. On Keita Endo, Fischer added: “Keita is on the way back, the injury was really unfortunate for him. He was doing really well. He’s trying to fight his way back. We see it in training, he needs to keep going.”

Service:

The match on Sunday is sold out, but there is a final opportunity for members to purchase tickets through the Secondary Ticket Market.
