No ban for Atakan Karazor

The VfB captain is therefore not suspended for the upcoming Bundesliga match against TSG Hoffenheim. The first yellow card from this game remains in place. Karazor was sent off for a supposed foul in the 63rd minute of Saturday’s encounter. Karazor appealed against the second yellow card because, in his view and that of the club, it was a clear error by the referee. The DFB concurred with this view and has overturned the sending-off and the resulting suspension.

“In our opinion, the DFB sports tribunal has made a prudent and correct decision,” said VfB board member for sport Fabian Wohlgemuth. “We feel vindicated in our judgement that the referee made a clear error, and are pleased that our captain is available for this Sunday’s home match against TSG Hoffenheim.”
